Precise Australia respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through preciseaustralia.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

1. What we collect

When you buy a product, we collect your name, email address, and country. For team licences we also collect your organisation name. Stripe collects your payment details directly. We receive only a confirmation, the last four digits of the card, and the card brand. We never see or store your full card number.

When you contact us, we collect your name, email address, and whatever you write in your message.

When you visit the site, we collect standard technical information: IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and the page that referred you.

We do not collect sensitive information as that term is defined in the Privacy Act, and we ask that you do not send it to us.

2. Why we collect it

We use your information to process your order, deliver your files, send updated versions of products you have bought, answer your questions, meet our tax and record-keeping obligations, and understand which parts of the site are useful.

3. Marketing

We send marketing email only to people who have opted in. Purchasing a product does not opt you in. Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately. Transactional email, such as your download links and product updates, is sent regardless of marketing preference because it is part of what you bought.

4. Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers that make the site work. Stripe processes payments and holds the payment information you enter at checkout. Our email provider sends your download links and any newsletters. Our hosting and analytics providers store site data and traffic records.

Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. By using the site you consent to this disclosure. We take reasonable steps to use providers with appropriate security and privacy practices.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

We may disclose information where required by Australian law, or to a buyer if our business is sold, in which case the same protections continue to apply.

5. Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary for the site to function, including keeping items in your cart and completing checkout securely. We use a small number of analytics cookies to count visits and see which pages are read. You can block cookies in your browser, but the cart and checkout will not work if you do.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

6. Security

The site runs over HTTPS. Access to order records is restricted to people who need it to run the business. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

7. How long we keep it

We keep order records for seven years to meet Australian taxation requirements. We keep contact form messages for two years. We keep marketing subscriptions until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained for fourteen months.

8. Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@preciseaustralia.com and we will respond within thirty days. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Where we are required to keep records for tax purposes, we will explain what we cannot delete and why.

9. Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, email support@preciseaustralia.com with the details. We will investigate and respond within thirty days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

10. Children

The site is intended for business use by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The current version is always published on this page with the date it was last updated.
